The Department released a  to provide guidance on recent changes to strengthen investment and evidence in grant programs. The changes require stakeholders of new and existing grants to undertake data collection, analysis and evaluation activities.

The  (MRFF) is a $20 billion long-term investment by the Federal Government to support Australian health and Medical Research. As an ongoing research fund, the MRFF aims to transform health and medical research.   

The  (NHMRC) is the main statutory body of the Federal Government responsible for medical research. The NHMRC facilitates networking in the research community bringing academics and industry together.

The RACGP offers research grants, awards, scholarships and access to various projects which underpin the profession's commitment to continuous improvement.

Rural Procedural Grants Program

The Rural Procedural Grants Program (RPGP) helps cover the cost of professional development for GPs who provide procedural and/or emergency services in unsupervised settings in rural and remote areas.


Australian General Practice Research Foundation Grants

The Australian General Practice Research Foundation provides over $700,000 in grants and awards each year to support GP-led research projects into various aspects of practice and patient care, including chronic disease and injury management, Indigenous health, digital and innovation, and clinical guidelines.


Ƶ research grants  

The Ƶ Research Grant Program (ERG) aims to continue building research capacity in medical education and training for general practice with a specific focus on education improvement.
