RACGP Victoria Alt-Wednesday Webinar - Managing Cardiac Risk Factors in the reluctant patient - February 2025

On-demand recorded 19 Feb 2025

Assessing and managing cardiovascular risk factors can be complex especially in reluctant patients. New Cardiac risk assessment tools help but good communication skills are needed to put the risks in context. In particular, when the patient brings in the results of their online (read: social media) searches and horror stories. Many patients will have smart watches and “health apps” telling them all sorts of things. How do we navigate all these to advise and work with the patients confidently for the best outcomes.

Learning outcomes

  1. Identify cardiovascular risk factor assessment and appropriate calculators.
  2. Outline CVD risk with patients, especially those who are reluctant to accept cardiovascular risk factors.
