The guideline provides healthcare professionals with evidence-based recommendations on the care of people with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The Guideline was developed by the Heart Foundation and Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and is an update of the 2016 resource – National Heart Foundation & Cardiac Society of Australia and NZ clinical guidelines for acute coronary syndrome. Recommendations are provided for assessing and managing people with suspected or confirmed ACS, with a summary of the available evidence supporting the recommendations and practical advice on how to apply the recommendations. This includes practice points, for assessing and managing ACS in underserved populations The update advises new terminology including acute coronary occlusion myocardial infarction.
