Anthony has extensive experience and knowledge of the medical careers process in Australia, including the pathways for IMG doctors to embark on medical careers in Australia.
Anthony has worked in a number of Executive and medical workforce roles for over 25 years, including four years as the Executive Medical Director, Health ±«ÓãÊÓƵ & Training Institute of NSW.
Anthony currently works with thousands of individual doctors to assist them in applying for and preparing for job applications and career transitions. In addition Anthony works with a number of organisations, including several specialty medical colleges, on medical workforce related projects. Anthony hosts a very popular medical careers blog advancemed.com.au and YouTube channel the career doctor.

Dr Franziska Levin
Specialist GP
Dr Franziska Levin moved to Australia in 2018 after completing her GP training in the UK. Her first experience of Australia was at a high school exchange year in 1997 where she met her partner. Originally from Germany, she studied medicine in Germany and in Italy before moving to the UK in 2006 for her postgraduate training. After some time in general medicine and paediatrics she chose to specialise in GP. She very much enjoys general practice and it helped to develop her UK practice into a centre of excellence for intellectual disability. For these efforts she was awarded UK GP trainee of the year in 2018. Her journey in Australia started in Melbourne and led her through several corporate and private GP practices, and various Covid-19 projects into community health. She has fully embraced her opportunities here and joined the RACGP New Fellows Committee, and has participated in mentoring and the Future Leaders program.
Dr Ashraf Takla
Specialist GP
Ashraf was born in Egypt and graduated in Medical College in Cairo. He trained and worked as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Northampton England. He also trained and worked as a principal GP in Northampton for several years before moving to Australia in 2007. Ashraf works as a full-time rural GP and visiting medical officer (VMO). He also participates in sessional surgery at St John of God Hospital Bendigo. Ashraf is a medical educator and a supervisor of training doctors. He is also an examiner with the RACGP. Main interests are Procedural work, Men’s health, and chronic disease management and health promotion. Ashraf won the RWAV Rural Doctors award in 2010. He is the Boort footy, netball and hockey team’s doctor. He learnt to fly in country Victoria and achieved a lifetime ambition of holding an unrestricted private pilot’s license.
